All set for Umzingwane Agricultural and Trade Expo

The third edition of the Umzingwane District Agricultural and Trade Expo will kick off at the scenic Ncema Valley Country Club, running from August 29-31.

This highly anticipated event is set to be a resounding success, with a significant surge in registrations from enthusiastic farmers and individuals eager to capitalise on the opportunities presented.

According to the Expo’s chairperson, Siphathisiwe Mguni, the response has been overwhelming, with a remarkable number of registrations for exhibition tables as farmers look to sell their products during this three-day business opportunity. Individual registrations are also strong.

Mguni expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders for their support and efforts in making the event a success.

“There has been an increase in registration for exhibition tables. Many farmers, both individually and in groups, have signed up to showcase their products at the three-day event. We appreciate the contributions of the District Development Coordinator (DDC) Peter Mahlathini, Umzingwane Rural District Committee, Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service, and all other stakeholders who have worked tirelessly to prepare for the expo,” she said.

Mguni also encouraged farmers to showcase their products, urging more exhibits in horticulture, arts, crafts, pottery, and basketry from all corners of Zimbabwe.

“We urge farmers to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their products at an affordable rate of $5 for an individual table or $10 for a group staging. Use this three-day business opportunity to boost your economic status,” she said.

Additionally, Mguni highlighted the expo’s focus on empowering local farmers and entrepreneurs, stating that the goal is to create a platform for farmers to network, share knowledge, and access markets.

“We believe this event will have a positive impact on the local economy and contribute to the country’s agricultural growth. All local government departments and local Non-Governmental Organisations have registered,” Mguni added.
