Bulawayo City Council refuses to cut US$1 parking fee despite new government cap

In today’s bulletin, The Bulawayo City Council says it cannot lower its US$1 hourly parking fee to the US$0.50 cap set under Statutory Instrument 41 of 2026 because it is bound by a six-year contract with Tendy Three Investments. Nigeria says it will seek compensation from South Africa for Nigerian citizens who fled after recent protests targeting undocumented migrants.
