The construction of Ehlathini Primary School in Bubi Constituency is steadily progressing, marking a significant milestone in efforts to improve access to education in rural communities.

The project has been boosted by a donation of 100 bags of cement from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), which has accelerated early construction works.

Local Member of Parliament Simelisizwe Sibanda expressed optimism over the development, noting that the intervention is part of broader efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure in the constituency.

“This project is a critical step towards ensuring that children in this area learn in a safe and conducive environment. We are committed to supporting initiatives that bring lasting development to our communities,” he said.

Community members echoed similar sentiments, describing the project as long overdue and life-changing for local families.

Thompson Maseko, a resident, said the initiative has brought renewed hope to parents and learners alike.

“This is a much-needed boost for our community. Our children have been learning under difficult conditions, so this new school will make a huge difference,” he said.

Another community member, Patricia Dube, added that the school will particularly benefit younger children who previously struggled with long travel distances.

“Some of the children were walking several kilometres every day. This school will really ease the burden on parents and improve attendance,” she said.

Once completed, Ehlathini Primary School is expected to reduce overcrowding in nearby schools and improve access to quality education in Bubi Constituency.

The project stands as part of ongoing CDF-supported development initiatives aimed at uplifting rural communities and strengthening essential public services.
