Police investigate two murder incidents in Bulawayo
Bulawayo police are investigating two separate murder incidents that occurred on Saturday.
In the first incident, a 15-year-old boy, Mduduzi Mkandla, was stabbed to death at a borehole in Hope Fountain village. The suspect, Ntandoyenkosi Ncube, 19, allegedly overheard Mkandla discussing taking his knife and reacted violently.
Ncube is currently at large.
The second incident involved the murder of a 23-year-old man, Obediah Mumba.
Mumba was allegedly assaulted by four men, Malucky Mwembe, 28, Isiah Mlauzi, 21, Peace Israel Mlauzi, 21, and Delma Phiri, 22, following a misunderstanding at a sports bar.
Mumba was pronounced dead at the scene and the four suspects have been arrested.
Bulawayo police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele expressed concern over the loss of young lives in these avoidable incidents. She urged members of the public to refrain from carrying dangerous weapons and to resolve disputes peacefully.
Police are also appealing for information leading to the arrest of Ntandoyenkosi Ncube.
