Foreign Affairs ministry to offer attestation services at ZITF

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade will be offering document authentication and attestation services to citizens at the forthcoming Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF).

Attestation is usually done by those who are planning to move out of Zimbabwe where there is an extensive procedure of legalisation and authentication of national documents.

The process involves the act of witnessing the signing of formal documents and then also signing them to verify that it was properly signed by those bound by its contents.

Attestation is also a legal acknowledgement of the authenticity of a document and a verification that proper processes were followed.

In a public notice, the foreign affairs ministry called on people who needed these services, especially from Matabeleland to take advantage of the international trade showcase which runs from April 26 to 30, 2022.

“The Secretary for Foreign Affairs and International Trade (James Manzou), wishes to advise the public that we shall be offering document authentication at the forthcoming ZITF exhibition,” said the ministry.

“In this regard, we call upon all nationals in Bulawayo Metropolitan, Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South provinces who wish to authenticate their national documents issued in Zimbabweans for use abroad to come forth for the aforementioned services.”

The foreign affairs ministry advised it would be based at ZITF Hall 4, from 9 am to 3 pm during the exhibition week.

“It is important to note, the authentication is subject to payment of requisite fees through swipe,” the ministry stated.
