ZANU-PF provincial secretary for security and Youth Service, popularly known as green bombers, graduate Bernard Nhata has been jailed for 15 months for stealing two cell phones from the party’s Politburo member Joshua Malinga.
Nhata was captured in a CCTV footage stealing a Samsung Galaxy S7 and J5 mobile phones from a Harare hotel on 29 May belonging to Malinga who is also the Special Advisor in the Office of President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Disability Issues
After his arrest, Nhata led police detectives to Harare phone dealers and both mobile phones were recovered.
Appearing before Harare magistrate Ruramai Chitumbura on Tuesday, Nhata was sentenced to 18 months in prison of which 3 were suspended for five years. He will then serve an effective 15 months.
