Two more Covid-19 deaths have been recorded in Bulawayo province following the death of a male aged 66 and a female aged 60, bringing to 23 the number of people who have succumbed to the novel virus.
Another death was recorded in Manicaland province where a 79-year-old male succumbed to the pandemic.
The country, on the same day, recorded 118 new cases, one of which is a returnee from South Africa and the rest are local transmissions.
These latest statistics bring the accumulative figures to 4339 confirmed cases, 84 deaths and 1264 recoveries.
Of the total confirmed cases, 3245 are locally transmitted and 1094 are from returnees while active cases are 2991.
“Today we regret to report three deaths at facility level. They are of a male aged 66 and a female aged 60 from Bulawayo province and a male aged 79 from Manicaland province. We recorded a total of 118 new cases, these include 117 local cases and a returnee from South Africa,” the Ministry of Health and Child Care noted in its latest statement.
“New recoveries were reported by Bulawayo province 21 and Mashonaland west province five. Bulawayo has a total of 1 065 Covid-19 cases, Matabeleland South has 437 cases while Matabeleland North has 60 cases.”
Bulawayo now has a total of 1073 Covid-19 cases, second to Harare which is leading with a total of 1670 cases.
Matabeleland South has 474 with 37 new cases while Matabeleland North now has 73 cases after recording 13 new cases.
