400 pupils share two classrooms, community appeals for assistance
Umguza villagers in Ward 9 are appealing for assistance in the construction of Ngazini Primary School.
The community turned a church hall into a school block with two classrooms.
The other classroom is still under construction.
The school has an enrolment of 400 pupils and six teachers.
Ward 9 Councillor Sibongile Mnkandla said the school has been in that state since 2000 and they are appealing for financial assistance to construct more classroom blocks.
They are in need of more bricks, cement, roofing planks and asbestos as they only have bricks enough for the foundation.
Cllr Mnkandla says they also need to construct teachers’ quarters as they are currently forced to share the few houses available.
Joseph Ndlovu the headman of Umguza Spring range Ward 9 said the existing structures are not enough to cater for all the pupils as they are forced to share the two classrooms.
Those wishing to extend a helping hand to the school can deposit their donation into the school`s ZB bank Belmont branch account number 4304786887201.
